11. Academic Relations
11.1. Terms of Reference
The Academic Relations director is responsible for university
relations within the catchment area of the Chapter. Note:
The Three UK Chapters and Ireland have agreed a division of universities by geographic area. This list can be found at:

The Academic Relations director is a appointed by the Management
Board. There is no set time for the number of terms that can be served
but it is normally expected that the incumbent will serve for two
consecutive years.
11.2. Main Objectives
The prime role is to liaise with the relevant University
Advocates in order to promote IS Audit as a career and membership of
ISACA in particular.
11.3. List of Tasks
Annual
- To prepare and present a report to enable the President to report
on academic relations matters at the AGM.
- To give a presentation to the students at each university
extolling the virtues of IS audit as a career (link
to PowerPoint presentation).
Monthly
- Prepare a report for the Board.
Other periodic
Other Irregular
- To discuss with the University Advocates any research
opportunities that may arise.

11.6. Positive Aspects
- Involvement with audit, security and control academics and the
opportunity to promote IS audit and control to a young and eager
audience.
11.7. Challenges
- Keeping current on audit & control issues so that
presentations to students deal with relevant issues. Keeping in
regular touch with academics at certain times of the year (i.e.
Examination times and summer break).
